An additional water cistern is needed at the main church in Thiotte to service the rectory, radio station and clinic, which is across the street.
The
8,000 gallon water cistern would be built on the ground approximately where the
is pictured above, a pump would
raise
water to the top of the tower and gravity would feed holding tanks on the roofs of
the rectory, radio station, and clinic.
The cistern would be built behind the rectory in the
fashion of a tower. It would then gravity feed one or two holding tanks on
the roof of the rectory, then a holding tank on top of the radio station, and
finally gravity feed one or two holding tanks on top of the clinic. Since
the hospital which is currently under construction, is at a lower elevation than
the clinic, I would presume that this 8,000 gallon water cistern would
eventually service it with water as well.
Father
Gaston already owns the pump to service this
cistern so the projected cost of this project is $14,000 US.
Currently, people who work at the rectory and clinic must carry water from the
cisterns in downtown Thiotte many times each day.
