Primary and High School

This school was devastated by the 2004 floods when the water from the mountain top drove water and rocks into the school and school yard. Father Gaston paid to have a grader come in and smooth out the surface, however, the steep walking path that leads to the school is badly rutted and is now too dangerous for children to walk to school.

Father Gaston needs $200,000.00 to rebuild this school in town - located at a lower elevation, this cost does not include the land purchase. His plan includes the addition of a trade school. High school students will be more inclined to complete their high school education if they can access a form of higher education. Currently, cost and distance prohibits students from seeking higher education, which can only be obtained in Port-Au-Prince, which is 5 hours away by car. Father Gaston has been promised by an organization in Spain that if he can raise half the money, they will pay the other half for this relocation project.
