Religious Formation

To teach as Jesus did means calling all Christians of every age and stage of life to fulfill their Baptismal call to holiness in family, Church and society.  Ongoing faith formation is essential to accomplish this mission.

Saint Cecilia Religious Formation is comprised of many opportunities to begin or continue enriching your faith. They are:  K-12 Religious Formation Classes; Adult Faith Formation – Bible Study and Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA – this class is for learning more about your Catholic faith, adults who have not completed their Sacrament preparation or adults interested in joining our Catholic Faith Community); and preparation for all Sacraments.

This year, some changes were made to our Faith Formation schedule. These changes were made after much consultation and in an effort to run our program as smoothly as possible.

  1.  School year grades 1-5 will have a NEW MEETING TIME:  Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  2.  School year grades 6-12 will meet at the regular time of 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
  3.  Please note:  There will be no Kindergarten program offered.
  4.  Classes will begin on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.
  5.  Classes will end on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.
  6.  Whenever the school district has Early Dismissal on Wednesdays, there will be NO FAITH FORMATION CLASSES.

As the adult members of Saint Cecilia Parish, living our mission statement of proclaiming and teaching God’s word, we “must be mature in faith and be well equipped to share the Gospel…through adult faith formation, by which we consciously grow in the life of Christ through experience, reflection, prayer, and study.” – General Directory of Catechesis, 27
