St. Cecilia Preschool is a state licensed facility. Our administrator and teacher, Carol Pottinger, is a state licensed early childhood teacher with a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and 14 years experience. The teacher assistant, Marta Swanson, has completed the Introduction to the Child Care Profession course.

Mission Statement

        We strive to provide a developmentally appropriate, safe and stimulating learning environment for all children. We will individualize instruction to meet various abilities and learning styles. We help develop the whole child: socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. Each child will be acquainted with a variety of meaningful learning materials. Self confidence will be built within each child as he/she is away from parents and home situations. Children will begin to work with a teacher and peer group in a friendly and non-threatening environment.

          We are non-denominational and embrace diversity with the idea of educating every child. In this spirit, we will give children time to explore, investigate and discover the world around them.

A.               Monday through Friday AM {4-5 yr-olds}

          A child MUST be 4 by September 1, 2008.

B.                Monday - Wednesday – Friday PM {3 ½ - 5  yr-olds}

12:30-3:00

          This class is for children ages 3, 4, or 5.

 Stimulating daily experiences are planned around a monthly theme. Every day the children experience small and large group events, teacher as well as child-directed activities, active and quiet moments, reading/writing/drawing opportunities, play, and creative expression. Concepts related to the alphabet/letter sounds, numbers and counting will be explored in meaningful ways throughout the daily routine. Prosocial and healthy behaviors such as being a classroom helper, sharing/caring/respect, making good /safe choices, and getting along with others are always encouraged. Self-help skills and independence are promoted as well. Simple technology is taught through the use of a classroom computer.

Please contact Carol Pottinger at (608) 253-7898. A $30 non-refundable registration fee is due at time of enrollment. All children MUST be toilet trained. Emergency/Medical information, Health forms, Immunization records, etc.  are due prior to the first day of class.  Class sizes are limited to ensure quality. Preschool calendar coincides (with some exceptions) with the Wisconsin Dells school district calendar. We are in operation from September through May.

Parent/teacher conferences with in-depth progress reports are provided.

We strongly encourage family involvement! Parents are expected to volunteer on a regular basis!
