Children

School-age religious education classes meet on Wednesdays. Religious education classes meet during the school year.

Sacraments

Second grade students receive both the Sacrament of First Reconciliation (Penance) and the Sacrament of First Communion. High school students receive the Sacrament of Confirmation during their junior or senior year.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This summer come on over because this is where your kids will have a good time at POWER LAB
 You’ll find plenty of interesting characters at ST. Cecilia’s Vacation Bible School. Each day your kids will be a part of fun Bible learning that they can see, hear, touch and even taste!  Crafts, team-building games, lively Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the POWER LAB
 activities that help kids join in the POWER LAB
 of Bible FunPOWER LAB
is great fun for kids entering Kindergarten thru Grade-6. So mark these dates on your calendar: August 4th, through August 8th. The adventure starts at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 11:30 a.m. The registration fee of  $37.00 for each child will cover crafts, snacks, and other materials. Payment is due by July 12th, to St. Cecilia’s. To register call the Director of Religious Formation at 253-5621 or send your $37.00 payment and registration form to St. Cecilia, PO Box 356, Wisconsin Dells, WI. 53965. You can also drop it off on Sunday or at the Parish Office during the week.

 This will be an awesome Bible-learning adventure!

St. Cecilia Adult Faith Formation Opportunities

R.C.I.A.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) classes for those adults who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, or for those adults who have not completed their Sacrament preparation or adults interested in joining the Catholic Faith Community are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

INTERESTED IN BECOMING A CATHOLIC or WANT TO RECEIVE THE SACRAMENTS

Are you someone who is interested in joining the Catholic Church?  Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, RCIA makes this possible

Are you someone who was baptized as a Catholic but never received the Sacraments of First Communion and/or Confirmation?

Are you someone who has a family member or a friend who is Catholic and are you interested in becoming a Catholic yourself?

Are you someone that was baptized in a non-Catholic Christian faith and are now interested in converting to the Catholic Faith?

Are you someone who has never been baptized in any Christian faith and now you would like to be a full member of the Catholic Church?

If you are an adult (18 years or older) and have answered "yes" to any one of these questions, the the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is for you.  RCIA is a faith journey in which you deepen you relationship with God and make friendships with other candidates and team members with Bible study, faith sharing and learning about the Teachings of a the Catholic Church.  Adults are then fully initiated into the Catholic Church with the Sacrament of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion at the Easter Vigil.

   

 ·        Bible Study is offered on the First or Third Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm. This Bible Study will use a variety of sources provided from the Diocese. (Check the Sunday Bulletin for Details) 

·        “Catholics Coming Home” course is a five week session beginning October 10th,  2005 on 5 consecutive Mondays at 7:00pm. This course will offer an opportunity for Catholic Adults to update their understanding of their faith, and will provide an opportunity for those who have serious issues and or questions to come forward and have a chance to share them and discuss them. (This session will be offered again beginning January 16th, 2006 on Mondays at 7:00pm.) (Check the Sunday Bulletin for Details) 

·        Catholic Book review. Each month a “recommended reading” book will be listed in the Sunday Bulletin designed for people who want to learn more at home.  After reading the book, you may join us for a monthly discussion over coffee on the Fourth Saturday of each month at 9:00am. Copies of the recommended books will be available at the public library or at the Religious Education office.  

·        “Growing in Faith”, a comprehensive study, prayer, and reflection time, allows persons of all backgrounds to reflect on the Word of God and the Church and offers support to each person’s journey of faith. This will be offered on the Second or Fourth Tuesday of each month beginning at 7:00pm. (Check the Sunday Bulletin for Details) 

·        Videos, audio tapes and CDs supplied by the Diocese of Madison covering a wide variety of topics will also be offered for adults. Contact the Religious Formation Office at 253-5621. A list of videos can be found on the Diocesan Web Site, www.madisondiocese.org, click on “Religious Education,” Click on “AV Catalog on-line” and chose one of the three search categories, or a list of videos can be supplied by contacting the Religious Formation Office at St Cecilia, 253-5621. 

·        Seasonal Advent and Lenten mini-retreats will be offered on 1st Saturday of the season at 9:00am or the 1st Thursday at 7:00pm. (Check the Sunday Bulletin for Details) 

If you would like to establish a small group to participate at your own home, resources and assistance will be provided. Also if you would like to participate during the daytime, we will be happy to work with you. Please contact the Religious Formation Office at 253-5621 and join now.
